In 2014 I traveled all around the world and back. It was the most epic trip of my life! First I went to India with my friend Ali and we went to the north for 3 weeks then the south for 3 weeks. From the colors, the culture, the music, the food, the people, to the spiritual practices entrenched in their country, I was surrounded by the unknown, hooked and in love!
Next, I branced out on my own and traveled to Nepal. I went by bus to the Chitwan National Park region where I rode elephants, went "hunting" for rhinos, and watched cultural dances. It was a blast. I spent the remainder of my time exploring Kathmandu, the temples and shops.
I flew to Cambodia next and visited beautiful temples and an acrobatic show in Siem Reap, to the killing fields & palace, where I learned of the recent destruction and rebuilding of the nation.
From Cambodia, I flew to Melbourne, Australia to visit friends, we went to the beaches, restaurants, shops and more. I flew to Sydney next and loved exploring the mainland, Bondi Beach, rode the ferry, went to a Carnival, visited art museums, aquariums, and zoos, and just generally had a blast. From Sydney I flew to Cairns where I swam with giant sea turtles and a baracuda!
Next on my journey was Bali. It was beautiful and sacred. I loved the people, the temples and I mostly stayed in Ubud, the yoga capitol! I practiced yoga everyday, cleansed my system, met some beautiful people, ate some delicious healthy food, and shopped to my hearts content!
After Bali, I flew to Seoul, South Korea, where I stayed with my friend who was there teaching English to young students. We explored, listened to bands, ate yummy food, went dancing and had a ton of fun!
Last on my trip was Thailand! It was one of my favorite places I have ever been, with Elephants, delicious cuisine, beautiful beaches, divine Thai massages and more! I loved snorkeling, hanging out on the beach, visiting all the beautiful Buddhist temples and talking with all the visitors and locals!
If I were ever to do it again, I would have done it exactly the same way, but added in a few weeks to each place, to relax more and really explore and immerse myself in each country. I will never forget this trip, it changed my life and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I had to go!
